What does the word “love” mean? We use this word reference toward a variety of things: candy, movies, family, or God. Surely we do not have the same depth of meaning in each case. Why Is Reading the Bible So Important?

“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17).

What you read impacts you. Reading the Bible on a regular and consistent basis has several benefits. The Bible shows us God’s character and provides us God’s revelation of himself to his people. In each section of the Bible, we see God’s holy, unchanging, faithful, gracious and loving character.

Reading and studying the Bible allows us to be certain of what God said. The Bible is our final authority.

Faith means believing in what we can’t see. It’s how the elders earned God’s approval. By faith, God created everything from nothing. Through faith, Abel offered a better sacrifice, and Noah built an ark before he saw the flood. Abraham left home, not knowing where he’d go, but trusted God’s promise. Sarah believed and had a child, despite her age. Moses chose to suffer with God’s people over Egypt’s riches, and by faith, he led Israel through the Red Sea. Faith brought walls down, raised the dead, and gave strength in weakness. These people suffered, but they believed in something better, beyond this life. Unlike the old priests, who offered sacrifices daily, Jesus offered Himself once and then sat down at God's right hand. Through His one offering, He made us perfect in God's eyes. Now, we have a new covenant, where God promises to forgive our sins and remember them no more. So, let us hold onto our faith and encourage one another in love and good deeds as we look forward to Christ’s return. A New Covenant of Faith - Hebrews 10:1-38
In the days of the old covenant, God gave specific instructions for worship. A tabernacle was set up—a holy place where priests would serve. Inside, there was a lampstand, a table with sacred bread, and beyond the veil, the Ark of the Covenant, holding the Ten Commandments and other holy items. Only the high priest could enter the holiest place once a year, offering sacrifices for the people's sins. But when Christ came, He became our perfect High Priest. He didn’t offer animal sacrifices, but His own life to cleanse us completely. Unlike the old priests, Christ’s sacrifice was once and for all, giving us the promise of eternal life. From Earthly Sacrifice to Eternal Salvation - Hebrews 9:1-28
Jesus was speaking to His disciples, comforting them as He prepared them for what was to come. He said, "Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in Me. In My Father’s house, there are many rooms, and I’m going to prepare a place for you. If it weren’t true, I would have told you. When everything is ready, I’ll come back and take you with Me, so we can be together. You already know the way to where I am going." But Thomas, one of His disciples, said, "Lord, we don’t know where You’re going. How can we know the way?" Jesus answered him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Then Jesus explained, "If you really know Me, you know My Father too. From now on, you do know Him because you have seen Him in Me." Philip, another disciple, asked, "Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough." Jesus replied, "Philip, have I been with you all this time, and you still don’t recognize Me? If you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father. Everything I say and do comes from Him." Jesus continued, "Believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me. Even if you don’t fully understand, believe because of the works I’ve done. If you trust in Me, you’ll do even greater works, because I’m going to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, I will do, so that the Father is glorified through the Son." Jesus then made a promise, "If you love Me, keep My commandments, and I will ask the Father to send another Helper, the Holy Spirit, who will be with you forever. The world won’t recognize Him, but you will, because He will live within you. I won’t leave you as orphans—I will come back to you." He added, "Soon, the world won’t see Me anymore, but you will, and because I live, you will also live. If you follow My teachings, My Father and I will come and make our home with you." Jesus concluded, "I leave you with peace—My peace—not the kind of peace the world offers. Don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid. I’m going away, but I’ll return. Rejoice, because I’m going to the Father, who is greater than I am. Remember all I’ve told you, so that when it happens, you will believe.
