God uses treatment of animals as measure of character

Proverbs 12:10

¹⁰ A righteous man regards the life of his animal, But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. ¹¹ He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.

here God is showing his love for all of creation while also showing the nature of mankind because if a person mistreats his animals which are god’s creations which are in his care, the person is showing the wickedness in his heart.
